What's New in FITIV Pulse 10.9.3

Fitbit Air Heart Rate Tracking

FITIV now supports the Fitbit Air band as a live heart rate source during workouts on iPhone. Through a simple two-step setup using Google Health, your band connects directly to FITIV and feeds real-time heart rate data into the same analytics engine powering every Apple Watch workout in the app.

This means live Heart Rate Zones during your session, and a full post-workout breakdown the moment you finish.

What You Get from Every Workout

Once your Fitbit Air is connected, every session in FITIV gives you:

  • Live heart rate and real-time Heart Rate Zone tracking
  • Average and maximum heart rate in your post-workout summary
  • Time spent in each Heart Rate Zone
  • Calorie burn based on your HR data
  • Strain Score for the session
  • Training Load contribution toward your weekly totals
  • Recovery Score and Training Readiness informed by your effort

This is not basic step tracking. This is the full FITIV analytics stack powered by your Fitbit Air band.

How to Set It Up

Setup takes about 60 seconds.

In Google Health:

  1. Open Google Health on your iPhone
  2. Tap the device icon in the top left corner
  3. Tap your Fitbit Air device
  4. Scroll down to Share heart rate
  5. Toggle on Always visible

Then in FITIV:

  1. Go to the Workouts tab
  2. Tap Discover Devices
  3. Select your Fitbit Air from the list
  4. Set it as your main tracking device
  5. Start a workout to confirm heart rate data is coming through

Why FITIV Is the Best iOS App for Fitbit Air Users

FITIV is built for athletes who want more than a step counter.

Unlike basic health apps, FITIV combines:

  • Live Heart Rate Zone tracking from your Fitbit Air during every workout
  • Strain Score and Training Load calculated from your band's HR data
  • Recovery Score and Training Readiness to guide your next session
  • HRV tracking and sleep insights
  • Strength training with Progressive Overload, RIR tracking, and Plate Calculator
  • GPS workout maps with pace and heart rate overlays
  • AI coaching
  • Full Apple Health sync after every session

For Fitbit Air users on iOS, FITIV is currently the most complete recovery and performance tracking platform available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an Apple Watch to use the Fitbit Air with FITIV?

No. You do not need an Apple Watch. Your Fitbit Air connects through Google Health, and FITIV reads the heart rate signal via Bluetooth. Your iPhone is the only Apple device required.

Do I need to keep Google Health open during my workout?

No. Once the Always visible toggle is enabled in Google Health, your Fitbit Air broadcasts heart rate in the background. Google Health does not need to be open while you train.

Can I use my Fitbit Air and Apple Watch at the same time?

FITIV uses one heart rate source per workout. If your Apple Watch is the active HR source, your Fitbit Air will not be used, and vice versa.

Does FITIV support other Fitbit models besides the Fitbit Air?

FITIV Pulse 10.9.3 currently supports heart rate tracking via the Fitbit Air. Support for additional Fitbit models may expand as the Google Health API integration develops.
